I was a confidence MACHINE this weekend!! ;)

What are some little ways you increase your confidence, even if only temporarily?

These two hats are my mom-in-law's latest creations for my other etsy shop, juniper + clover. I put them on just to take pics for our listings, and WHOA!! Instant confidence! Then I added in the fake glasses, and even more so! (I do sometimes wear my real glasses, but these are faux. The lenses on my faux pairs aren't very clear, so they bug me after a while, but they sure are cute.) I couldn't believe how my mood and perception of myself were instantly transformed just by donning hats! I wanted to head on over into our town square, which is filled with really awesome and funky people who dress way cool and maybe, just maybe, intimidate me a little sometimes unknowingly, and strut down the street with the best of 'em!!! I'm definitely gonna need one of these for myself as a keeper. This is one reason we say 'round here that we celebrate inner and outer beauty. Of course we know which one is the more important one, duh, but when you try to improve upon your outer beauty (within reason), sometimes it will enhance how you feel about yourself, thereby making you feel freer to showcase your inner beauty as well.

When I had funky, bright hair colors, it was like an automatic bravery boost as well! You cannot have bright pink or purple hair and not enjoy the extra looks you get walking down the street. ;)

No She Didn't pictured

Wearing Lime Crime lipsticks, especially the ones that are not traditional colors (which, thankfully, is most of them!) has the same effect on me. I sometimes hear people say, "It looks great on other people, but I could never wear that color." Somehow, that never crossed my mind. When she first came out with the line, I was so entranced by them that I was determined to have them and ROCK them! And I think I do, not so much because of how I look but the ATTITUDE I have when wearing them...especially this blue one called No She Didn't. Man, I put that on and feel like I can conquer the world!

The candle was a gift from my friend Shybiker. :) Isn't it cute??

I got three free nailpolishes in the mail this weekend from Zoya - they were doing a special where you could get three if you just paid S+H. I got three of the brightest, boldest ones they had to offer!! One of them is called Yummy, this gorgeous, matte sky blue that I think is gonna look great with my No She Didn't. (Plan to do a review on the nailpolishes soon, but I think I can safely say I love 'em so far.)

I really don't wanna make y'all tired of hearing about our bottlecap necklaces, but I truly do just LOVE them even if no one were ever to buy one...I take joy every morning in picking one out to wear, and it may be a reflection of how I'm already feeling that day, or it may be something that prods me to feel how I WANT to feel.

(The rest of my hair is still long; it's in a ponytail here.)

And, finally, I got my bangs yesterday! I have unfortunately not managed to get a good picture of myself with them yet, but as you can see, they don't really look that different from any bangs I've had before...yet they were just what I needed to start propelling me out of the winter blahs! I've had the same stylist for, oh, about 8 years, I think...fate led me to a Hair Cuttery of all places, and it didn't take long for me to realize this girl belonged in her own place. We developed a friendship over the years, and I kept encouraging her to get past her fears and get her own space...and she finally did! I'm so proud of her. She also did my wedding hair, and I PROMISE someday soon I will tell you guys all about our wedding and show pictures! Anyway, when I walked out of her salon, I felt like a million bucks. I walked down the street like I owned it, with a smile on my face. I saw two guys do double-takes out of the corner of my eye. When I met up with my husband where he was waiting for me and then found a mirror, I realized the wind had swept my bangs into chaos, nothing like the perfect way she'd fixed them, and I looked pretty frazzled, actually...and yet they were still looking because I was CONFIDENT. I'm not purposely trying to get other guys to look at me; I'm just making a point. ;)

Getting my nose pierced and my two tattoos, as well as being part of the closet narcissist, naturally boosted my confidence as well. Blogging in here actually boosts me up a little more every time, simply because I'm talking about confidence. You'll naturally soak up whatever you focus on.

None of these things can provide real, lasting confidence in and of themselves until you internalize the confidence and ingrain it into your heart. But they're small steps that help you "fake it til you make it," until it becomes so ingrained in you that you don't "NEED" the funky hair color or certain hat but just WANT them simply because they make you feel even better. Now and then, we all need a little extra boost! And, you know what, sometimes the only thing you need to boost your mood or your confidence is to plaster a big smile on your face even when it's the last thing you feel like doing. It just might work.

On an unrelated note...is it a sign that I'm 30 years old if I am somewhat intrigued by Pajama Jeans?? They don't look bad to me! Am I about to get lost in a world of elastic waistbands that I don't have to unbutton after a large meal? heehee Hmm...not sure if these would boost my confidence or not! ;)

Oh, and I have stayed up all friggin' night long redoing the entire blog layout, from the header to the template to each little facet I'm able to change...I'm happy with it, and I certainly hope y'all are, cuz I'm gonna be paying for this...grooaaannnn.

But back to the original point of this post (sorry, I am getting loopy!):

What are the little things that help boost confidence for you??

Ch-ch-ch-changes! Wall color, hairstyle...how 'bout you?

Lately, I keep having these uncontrollable urges to redecorate things!! KameraWhore and I have MANY things in common, and she'll attest that this is definitely one of them.

It happens every so often with me...when I lived by myself, it seemed to happen about every six months, requiring me to repaint my walls. To my credit, I haven't changed my mind on a paint color in our house in about four or five years! So it's past time for a change!! I think I want to repaint our living room. I posted a pic of my former bedroom before...here is our living room.

Not as girly as you were expecting, huh!

If I can't have pink, red's the next best thing! :) But in a small room, the red can sometimes seem dark, and with spring hopefully on its way, I think I'd like something fresher, brighter, but without having to change anything else except the wall color. The dining room is pea pod green, and the master bedroom is light cerulean blue, so those two colors are out...but I want the rooms to flow together still. I want to be able to decorate for Christmas in traditional red and green, so even though that's one small part of the year, I wanna keep that in mind. So what I keep going back to is khaki. I usually prefer lots of color to neutrals, but I can still have pops of color around the room in other ways. Hmm. I know this isn't a decorating blog, but I know some of you out there have some talent! What do you think?

I've also been debating for a while whether or not I want to get bangs again. I know, HUGE life decision here... I think I wanna get bangs that I can change up...they could be side-swept, straight across, or Bettie Page depending on how I feel on any given day! Here's a couple pics of me when I had them, as well as one of Kamalama with bangs and one of our fave singers, Langhorne Slim.

Look at my pretty baby girl!!

Oh, how I want to make a crude joke here about getting "bangs."

In the second one, you can just see hints of color from when the underside of my hair was fuchsia. I've also done hot pink and purple on the underside. My hair has been every "typical" color as well, even blonde! I think I want to stick with brunette for a while longer, though. Oh, and this is my FAVORITE hairstyle Kam has ever had.

I shouldn't give any opinions on the new (to America) show "Skins," because I haven't watched it and probably won't...but at the risk of sounding like a prudish 30-year-OOOLLLLD lady ;), just from what I've seen in the preview, the show would probably scare me out of having a child this day in age! lol Is this really what goes on?! I'm perfectly fine with adults doing "things" on TV, but they're so young. Anyway, the thing that stuck out to me watching the preview (aside from the obvious content of the show, ahem!) was this one girl's HAIR!! I love it! I am getting my hair cut this weekend and am having to talk myself out of getting it all chopped off like this. I've had my hair shorter than that before and loved it. But that length would just end up looking, on me, like that awkward "I'm growing my hair out" stage. I've been there; I know. Don't let me do it!!

Ironically, I think I look younger without bangs than with. I'm pretty sure I wanna get the bangs, though. Yes? No? HELP!!!!! Aaaaahhhh!!!

And, finally, I'm considering redoing the layout of the blog. You have NO IDEA how long Kam and I pored over various blog layouts before we finally settled on this one!! I love it and think it's really cute, but for some reason, I just keep thinking I want to change it (which some of you agreed with in our survey - you can still take it here if you like, which we'd appreciate so very much!).

Which reminds me, if you have a Blogger blog and haven't yet set it up for mobile viewers, oooh, please go do that!! It makes viewing and commenting on them on smart phones a lot easier! Go here: http://draft.blogger.com/home - then go to Settings - then click on Email & Mobile - then click Yes for "Show Mobile Template."

Anyway, I'm probably just bored from the winter blahs, but I think some ch-ch-ch-changes will do me some good! :)

I think this is why I love makeup so much!! It's not permanent, and you can do it totally different every single day to keep you from getting bored.

What are you considering changing as spring approaches? Your hair color? Your city? Your style? The way you perceive yourself?

And what do you think are your reasons behind changing - something deep-seated and profound or just boredom?

Valentine's Day MAKEUP Look + Why I Hate V-Day (not why you'd think)

This is my entry for Lime Crime Makeup's Valentine's Day Contest! Pink is obviously the word of the day here! I plan to write out a tutorial for this sometime in the near future, but it's pretty straight-forward, so you can probably figure out how it goes. But of course I will answer any questions you may have in the meantime! I will say the lipstick is a mixture of Lime Crime's Great Pink Planet, Countessa Fluorescent, Centrifuchsia, AND Retrofuturist!

The contest ends tonight, so hurry if you wanna enter! There are some really fantastically done entries. You can enter on their Facebook page.

V-Day is hard for a lot of people. Usually, the reason is a person laments their singleness more on this day. But I have a different reason. So let me just get it over with and say that Valentine's Day is very bittersweet for me. It's the anniversary of my mom's death. This year, it will be six years. I can't even believe it. My poor husband tries so hard to be sensitive to me on this day every year. He always brings me a dozen roses and See's chocolates (my favorites) but allows me to set the pace for how (or if) we'll celebrate it as a holiday or if I'm just too sad and need to be alone with my feelings. I never know how it's going to hit; some years, I have made it through alright, and others, wow, I'm glad they're behind me.  Truthfully, I don't know if I'll feel like posting ANYthing related to V-Day as it gets closer and closer...so I'm going to go ahead and post it early just in case. This is my beautiful mother.

This Valentine's Day, whether you're single or not, make sure to also show lots and lots of love to your family and friends as well.

And, of course, don't forget to love YOU for V-Day too!! So cliche, I know, but you can't have a truly healthy and fulfilling relationship with someone else until you are a complete and whole person already, in and of yourself! :)

Here's an etsy treasury I put together in honor of self-love!

I almost forgot...here's more of my dress. I got it at Target a couple years ago. Isn't it wonderfully ModCloth-ish??

Magazine Musings...yeah, I'm really no good at titles.

Yesterday evening, I was thumbing through a stack of Woman's World magazines that I acquired from my mother-in-law. I don't know if you've ever looked through one of these, but they are nothing like Cosmo or Glamour. This magazine is written for a real person who lives a regular, real life. Nothing fancy. No articles relating to sexual conquests or mishaps. No celebrity sightings and fashion faux pas. No glossy, beautiful pictures of women who can't possibly be human. The back cover advertises Riders jeans by Lee. Enough said.

What you will find within its economically printed pages ($1.79, heck yeah) are articles and recipes geared towards staying healthy, looking younger, and above all, feeling happy about yourself and boosting your mood! There are of course shopping suggestions as well as book and movie previews. There are even home decorating and organization tips. But what I really enjoy about this budget magazine are several of the regular columns that run. One column, My Guardian Angel, is one in which readers submit experiences in which they swear to have encountered an angel. Whether you believe in angels or not, the stories always involve a stranger helping in a time of need, and they are very uplifting. Similarly, my two other favorite columns are entitled Circle of Kindness and Doing Good, which tell about an individual or group who have made a difference in the world through their kindness and unselfish actions.

Reading articles such as these makes me feel better about the world and inspires me to be a better person. I would say I'm a pretty nice gal, and I really do try to help others whenever I can. When I do something nice for someone, I feel better about myself which makes me feel happy to be me. And we all know that when we feel happy inside, it shows on the outside. Happiness makes your beauty glow! What an ideal natural remedy to the beauty blahs. Be nice. I wish everything were so easy.

So back to the magazine. I'm not saying I don't enjoy the others that are out there. I absolutely love those raunchy and explicit articles about bedroom mishaps and how to be a better lover (umm, not that I need them, ha ha). The make-up tips are great and the fashion is inspiring. But Woman's World, well, it just makes me feel good. It's a good fit for me and doesn't give me that slight feeling of inadequacy that some other magazines often do.

On a side note, I came across a great "assignment" that I would love for us all to work on! Written on the sidebar of a page out of Women's World, was a snippet about ways to help boost one's mood. The author suggested keeping a compliment journal. It is exactly what it sounds like. Keep a running list of all of the compliments that people bestow upon you. Then, whenever you're feeling down in the dumps (or not :}), you just open it up and read about how awesome other people think you are! Isn't it just perfectly narcissistic and wonderful?! I'm so excited to start! So the first thing I'm going to do, and I challenge you to do the same, is to go out and buy a beautiful journal to house the beautiful compliments that we are all going to get! Hmmm...make that a large journal. Maybe two. I need to be prepared... :)

Blog Lovin'

bloglovin

We've added a new way to follow our blog over in the ol' sidebar there...Blog Lovin'! It's a very user-friendly way to keep up with all your favorite blogs. You can also use this link:

Follow our blog with bloglovin

I like Blogger Dashboard a lot for keeping up with blogs, but Google Reader, not so much...I think you'll find Blog Lovin' is easier than Google Reader...and more attractive to look at too. Hmm...attractive and easy...kinda like KameraWhore!! heehee Only kidding, of course (about the "easy" part).

And by the way, it seems that some people were experiencing problemos trying to fill out our 2011 survey from within the blog post, so here is the direct link:

We hope you'll take a coupla minutes of your time to fill it out...it sure would help us out!!!!! :)

We have a short 'n sweet little survey that we hope you'll fill out for us! It won't take much of your time and will help us to bring you an even better the closet narcissist experience. Your response will be anonymous. 13 is sorta a lucky number for us, so there are 13 questions.

Thanks in advance!! :)  We'll read all the responses and try to take them to heart; we want to give you what you want and appreciate your being here!

If you have any issues taking the embedded version of the survey, please take the survey from here: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/449222/tcnsurvey2011.

(P.S. Thanks to Medicinal Marzipan for the idea and some of the questions and responses; the girl is brilliant!)

Everything's comin' up roses!

(I made the collage w/ the Diptic iPhone app.)

We finally got through all the snow and ice here - though there is still a bit left here and there that hasn't melted. Today is just cold and rainy. And there's nothing I like more on a cold and rainy day (when I can't just stay home on the couch and watch movies, that is) than to dress like spring!

Kam and I went to Target on Sunday and picked up these $5 rose-patterned tights. Aren't they shabby-chic-a-licious??! I love them. I paired them with my pink ModCloth shoes, which I wore in my wedding.

My Shabby Chic brand umbrella came from Target years ago. The little makeup bag is something I saw a while back on Zoella, and as soon as I saw how lovely it was, I HAD to have one!! It's so girly and sweet. It looks like a vintage postcard. It's from the Paper Plane series from Disaster Designs. I found mine on eBay.

And to add to all this pretty, feminine loveliness, we are now offering our handmade necklaces with your choice of 1) a little silver charm surprise or 2) a sweet little colored rosette - for FREE!

The little flowers won't fit on all the designs, so that's where the charms come in. Consider the girly cuteness level raised!! (You can also still get them unadorned if you like.)

Y'all, my entire house used to be decorated like the photo collage!!! It was dollhouse heaven. Sigh. Here's a pic of my old bedroom. My husband didn't wanna live in a dollhouse, and I guess I can't blame him! ;) But I sooo loved it.

And if that's not enough roses for you, here are two of my most coveted lip products. I have some type of weird allergic reaction to certain lip products, and I have yet to narrow down the ingredient that causes it. But I am safe with these two and love them. They leave a pretty finish that is slightly pink-tinted, and they smell rosy-posey and lemony, respectively.

(Photo edited with the LoMob iPhone app.)

Rosebud Salve used to only come in a tin, which is really pretty but not always convenient if you can't wash your hands, so I love the squeeze tube. Fresh's Sugar Rose Lip Treatment is expensive - $22.50 for the full-size tube!! - but it's SPF 15, and I'm not allergic, so they sort of have me backed into a corner!

Hope you're all enjoying your Tuesday. And even if you have yucky weather outside, you can make it come up roses too!

Paint Yourself Confident

Happy New Year fellow Narcissists! This is KW, the seemingly silent partner of TCN. Firstly, let me go ahead and get something off my shoulders. I feel guilty for not blogging as Jen does. She is such a fabulous writer and has so many beautiful and inspirational things to say. She is so wonderful that I get a bit self-conscience of myself and my own abilities. But its okay, I'm going to woman-up and just let myself be vulnerable. After all, we're supposed to be celebrating our awesomeness around here! Maybe I'll just think about all of the people who are intimidated by me for a little while...hmmm...ahhh...yes, that's better. Confidence boosted. Ha ha. Kiddin'!

Just like Jen, I too am on my second day of being"iced" in and it's beginning to get a little stuffy around here. I just got the call that work is cancelled tomorrow as well. That's nice, but I'm going to have to get out of here! I took a shower this morning and got ready as if I did have somewhere to go. I was beginning to feel those twinges of depression that I get when I feel closed in. I needed to fool my brain into believing I had plans outside of this house. I'm really not sure how long that tactic will work. There are some things I want to accomplish today that I know will improve my mood. Actually, I likely won't finish but one of them; I just need to decide which one to begin with.

Currently, I have five paintings that I'm working on. The first is a portrait of my daughter that I have started but that needs to be completely re-worked. I also have three portraits of my pups that I have drawn and are ready to paint. Finally, I sketched out a portrait of myself :) that still needs some work before I can start painting. I sound like I have a bit of artistic ADD! Drawing and painting are two things that really make me feel good about myself though. It's not that I think I am amazingly talented, but I am proud of what I can do. I've had people ask me why I'm not an artist (by profession) and it gives me these happy feelings inside that are hard to hide. Just the thought of someone thinking I could be is such an ego booster! Seven years ago, I lost my Daddy. Shortly before he passed away, he was in the hospital proudly introducing his family to his nurses. At the time, he was having some cognitive issues and when he got to me I could see he was having a problem recalling my name.He introduced me as the artist. Having him say that, as sad as the situation was, gave me an unexpected confidence in myself and a true sense of pride that my father considered me to be an "artist". I'll never forget the bitter-sweetness of that moment. If I ever feel like I'm not good enough, I think back to that.

Portraits are what I love to do and I would be ecstatic if I could find a way to incorporate them into TCN's shop. It is narcissistic (though perfectly healthy) to commission a portrait of one's self, so I suppose it does suit our theme of self-love! I just might have to talk to my business partner! Did y'all know that she is also a painter? Has she mentioned that? She has a perfectly beautiful painting in the works that she refuses to see as such. Ask her about it and maybe she'll share it with the TCN family!

Portrait of Dad (2003)

So, what is a sure thing that makes you feel good about yourself? Maybe it's a talent that you have or something about yourself that people tend to compliment a lot. Do you have a moment in your life that you can draw upon for a confidence boost?

Product Reviews: VS Love Spell, Katy Perry Purr Perfume, Revlon Scented Nailpolish...& SOAP!

Snow day #2! YEAH! So I thought I'd do another product review for you.

Coincidentally, I've obtained and reviewed three kinds of products that have two things in common:

1) They're all purple!

and

2) They all smell REALLY good!

First up, Victoria's Secret Love Spell shampoo and conditioner. I had a gift card, and since I got plenty of lingerie from the pinup-themed shower KameraWhore threw me, I decided to get a Love Spell body spray (since I was almost out again), shampoo, and conditioner. I've been using the body spray for several years now. I smelled this amazing fragrance one time getting in someone's car and asked her what it was...I went out ASAP and got some for my own. It's one of the best-smelling fragrances I've ever smelled!

But I had never tried the hair products. Since they were free to me, I couldn't resist. They are normally $9 a bottle, so more than I'd normally spend for shampoo and conditioner (Kam and I are Suave Humectant kinda gals) - but I have a feeling I'll be buying more when I run out. They smell just like the body spray. I wondered whether or not they'd actually leave my hair smelling like that signature fruit punch scent after the fact...but I washed my hair late yesterday afternoon, blew it dry (I usually air dry, but it is freakin' COLD), and woke up today to punchy-smellin' hair! My hair is also really soft, smooth, and not at all dry, so it seems to perform well. You can get it here.

Second is Revlon's *scented* nailpolish in Not So Blueberry. It's not blue; it's a deep, shimmery purple with blue undertones. And it smells like blueberries!! I painted my nails with it yesterday, and they still smell like blueberries today, even after cooking and washing my hands a lot. So I am walkin' around just enjoying all this fragrance every time I move and swish, between the hair products and nailpolish! ;) I have always liked Revlon's nailpolishes. They go on really well (not too thick, not too thin) and are good quality.  You can click the pic to enlarge. You can also order it here.

Now if only I could be more patient to wait for my nails to dry before I start doing other things! I have heard good things about Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat - really need to try it. I tried Sally Hansen's version before and disliked it so much that I actually returned it. Any opinions?

(By the way, the gloves are another item from my "other" etsy shop that I have with my mom-in-law, juniperandclover. Get some warm and cozy gloves, scarves, and legwarmers to enjoy before spring arrives! There are even little baby clothes.)

And third is Katy Perry's fragrance, Purr. My close friend Shybiker sent a bottle to me as a Christmas gift! (She's the sweetest!!) The bottle is shaped like a kitty cat, as you can see, who looks like she might be I Dream of Jeannie's cat! A little spray will do ya with this perfume so that you don't overdo it and end up smelling too strong. I just use a tiny squirt under each ear, and it will last me all day long.

The smell is not too overpoweringly rich. The official description is: "Purr by Katy Perry eau de parfum begins with the aroma of peach nectar and forbidden apple, evolves with a distinct floral bouquet of jasmine blossom, Bulgarian rose and vanilla orchid, and slowly reveals accents of creamy sandalwood and musk. Like the singer herself, Purr is playful yet sophisticated." I've never completely understood notes and bouquets, either in wine or perfume, but I do know it smells wonderful!!

Just be careful with your real cat while wearing it, or it might rub off on him, and you'll have to wash him off...and he may not take as kindly to this as mine did! You can get it here.

On an unrelated note, hubby and I have finished watching all four seasons of "SOAP" on Netflix instant (you can also buy it here). I'm so sad that there are no more episodes and that it ended on a cliffhanger with no closure! I knew it was coming, but damn. If you've never seen it, it's a parody of the outrageous plots they have in soap operas. They also took on issues of race, homosexuality, sex, and more between 1977 and 1981, when those issues were still much more sensitive than they are today, and they preached tolerance cloaked in humor. They did it brilliantly too, with clever characters and extremely silly plot lines that leave you wanting more - with just enough depth and warmth to attach you to their plights. I was born a year before it ended, and I enjoyed it just as much today as I would have then, had I been old enough. Billy Crystal plays cute gay son Jodie, the dad from "Blossom" plays his cute-but-not-so-smart brother Danny, the guy from "Empty Nest" plays Burt, Mona from "Who's the Boss" plays Jessica, Benson from "Benson" plays, well, Benson! Five-star cast!

So I'll leave you with a wonderful narcissistic quote from season four of this beloved sitcom:
Sometimes when I look at myself in the mirror, I am overwhelmed that I am in the same room with me.  - Burt Campbell, SOAP
Love it, haha.

In the interest of full disclosure, some of the links above are linked to our Amazon affiliate account. Every little bit helps keep TCN up and runnin'! ;) However, I only reviewed the products to share my opinion of them!

Snow day!!

Today is a snow day!!! What fun! I have about 5 inches in many places at my house. The dogs are crazy and fun in the snow.

Thought I'd bring back KameraWhore's Snow Day post from last year in honor of today's, especially for new readers who aren't familiar with her. She'll be postin' again soon! For now, enjoy this nugget of humor you can probably relate to.

How to be More Confident

Doh! Anyone know the original source for this image?? It's in several places on the web.

I came across this blog entry today by Liparazzi. Everything in it is spot-on, and I had to share it with you! 8 great tips on fighting the lies in your head and working toward more......

Confidence

I have had a couple of emails recently about confidence, more specifically, how to become more confident. I thought I would do a post on it and open it up to all of you guys since insecurity or being unsure of yourself is something that we all experience at some point. Some people are born confident, it’s just a facet of their personality but I don’t believe that anyone is 100% confident, 100% of the time. It’s something we all have to work on throughout our lives and it’s integral to our happiness. Feeling bad about yourself or the way you look can really hold you back in life and it can prevent you from achieving your goals and experiencing some pretty wonderful things. You could be missing out on a great guy, the perfect job, wearing the clothes you want to wear or being the person you always wanted to be. So why not make today the day you start to give yourself a break, start believing in who you are and start enjoying your life to the max!

Today's Note from the Universe/Operation Beautiful

I don't quite get how there can be so many gorgeous people in time and space, [insert your name here], yet so few who choose to see their own beauty.

Choose this, gorgeous.

       I do,
         The Universe

P.S. Are you kidding, [insert your name here]? You're way above average! Oh, go on, laugh.

The above is from www.tut.com's daily Notes from the Universe. I so LOVE them.

When I was searching for a pic to use, I came across this awesome web site, www.operationbeautiful.com. Here is their mission:

The mission of Operation Beautiful is to post anonymous notes in public places for other women to find. The point is that WE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL. You are enough... just the way you are!

How cool is that?! I totally want to start doing it! How 'bout you?

Are you ready for our big announcement??!!

KameraWhore and I are so proud and excited to announce the official launch of our online shop!!

Okay, it's not a total and complete surprise since I've mentioned a couple times before that it was coming. ;) But we are super happy nonetheless.

Our first installment in the shop is our handmade bottlecap necklaces! That's right, we designed and make each one by hand ourselves...with love. :) We found pretty images and put inspirational sayings on them to form our unique-to-TCN designs. Every time you see and wear them, they will remind you to stay strong and confident and love yourself! They also make great gift items for people in your life who need a little extra boost. I also like layering mine with a second necklace (as shown in the first pic).

We are selling them at a nice price because that's just what we believe in. That and the fact that we want you to buy more than one! heehee Seriously, we really think you'll like them - go check 'em out!

We also still list the confidence-inducing T-shirts we designed that are on our old CafePress shop! At some point, we plan to be screen printing these ourselves, but for now, scoop them up on CafePress. While they're still there, you can get these designs on T-shirts, tanktops, hoodies, sweatshirts, mousepads, coffee cups, undies...well, you get the picture. If you don't see the item you want the design printed on, simply email us and let us know so we can add it.

In the near future, we will bring you our handmade bath and beauty products as well!

So there you go...a brand new year launches our brand new store!! This is our second year into TCN, and we're eating it up!
